The Calke Abbey Project was 70% sustainable and focused on emphasising the beauty of the estate. The characters were designed as though they had become part of the estate and started to decay.  The rooms and gardens on the estate helped to influence the characters. Textiles used within the costumes were influenced by decay and ageing. The final costume was created using tartan bags and second hand fabric from charity shops.
